When I was a teenager back in the 70's, drugs were really on the increase and they were everywhere. Apparently, nothing has changed and they're still all over the schools...but anyway. One of my brothers was the biggest druggie/hippy going and he would get seriously stoned A LOT. When I was about 15, I read something in my numerology book that said I might have a tendency to escape into drugs and so on, and I took that message to heart. I wanted to try LSD and all that, but that warning was in my mind, and I decided that I would probably enjoy the drug scene so much that I would never see 20, and I was one of those kids who could go to a party and pass the joint or whatever without ever using it myself. I did try some marijuana after I met my ex, but only once.
I wonder if anyone else stayed out of the scene from a sense of self-preservation?

I chose not to go any further than hash because of seeing what various drugs did to my friends. I saw a bad trips, and worse I saw a baby die at eight weeks old because the claimed to be clean in pregnancy when she was actually using. She stayed clean for the last couple of weeks and so the baby tested negative at birth but the withdrawal (in utero and the effects in the first eight weeks of life) were too much for his tiny body. He died on Dec 26th.

Almost all of my friends are drug addict. I admit I tried using drugs but it's only for the sake of curiousity. But now I'm avoiding my friends because I don't want to be like them.

I tried marijuana a few times, but I found its effects to be unpredictable and I wasn't very attracted to it.
It's come close to being decriminalized here in Canada not too long ago.

It can be very unpredictable Ricardo, you're right. I've had splifs that have left me laughing so hard for fifteen minutes that I thought I was going to wet myself, all the laughing was at a cushion. Other times it has spun me out so totally that the polka dot walk paper in the kitchen was swimming. But mostly, it just puts me to sleep.

Over the years I have basically tried every drug out there with the exception of Opium. It is not something I am proud off and I have never become addicted however I do see how many other could easily turn into addict.

People get addict when they cant control them selves , if you use drugs but can control your viens then i think thats fine

It's interesting to see how many of us have tried different things and managed to avoid getting sucked under. Thanks for sharing, everyone.

I think some times common sense prevails though doesn't it? You know you like to do something, and you'd maybe like to do it more, but you don't because you know it will harm you. Maybe some people don't have this same sense of self preservation. Or they are in such a place, that they don't care and don't want to preserve themselves.

Drugs should not exist, they are the worst poison a person can get into his body. I`ve only tried Speed when I was a little kid. I love rollerblading, especially agressive rollerblading , and I was hangging arround with some buddies at the skate park, they all did LSD , Speed and extasy just to improve their rollerblading skills this was their point. I`ve tried speed once , halp a pill, I couldn`t open my eyes, everything was moving so fast that I was basically affraid to move, I skating so this could make me fall break anything, so I just sat down and watched everything moving so fast arround me. Quite a scarry moment I can tell you.
