What is it about cocaine that causes a person's nose to collapse? I've seen this in British celebrities, and would to better understand what it is that the drug does to one's skin and mucous membranes.

I'm not sure if it's a chemical irritation or physical, but constant snorting of cocaine eventually destroys the septum (the cartilage between the nostrils) and can lead to some pretty serious conditions.

The bleeding part is probably just from the inner part of the nose being extra sensitive.

Right, and it is this that we saw a lot of with celebs in the UK some time back, like Daniela Westbrook. She was able in time to clean up and then had cosmetic surgery, but I tell you that looked ROUGH.

A fried of mine snorted coke for many years. He has had to get an operation on his nose and a piece of plastic was inserted to separate his nostrils as he ended up with one large nostril.

That is the damage that we are talking about. The plastic replaced his septum, which had been destroyed by the coke.

That must be one the best reasons why never to touch the stuff. I hear that people who smoke the cooked version of coke can end up with holes in their lungs.

The thinking the way people try to take these drugs by nose is the reason behind it, its not a natural way of inhaling anything , thats why it willl certainly damage the body

Our nose is very sensitive internally and if anything which is harmful is inhaled through nose leads to nose collapse. Nose collapse is seen generally with the cocaine users.

I have seen friend of mine who have also lost there nose . I thing that if you are putting bad things in your body , your body will only do bad thing to you . Its not good to do so many drugs and not cocaine
