Grow operations are problems in many areas. There seem to be more and more houses being used this way, in the suburbs especially.
Are they a problem in your area?

I have never heard of it in my sleepy little town. I am sure that it happens somewhere, perhaps in the city about fifteen miles away. Here too, maybe, but we are tiny and hick and everyone knows everyone's business.

I'm in a little village, too, Britjojo, and everyone knows who grows or deals the drugs, who the moonshiners are (and there are quite a few) and all that stuff. It's maybe not a bad thing to know who to watch out for.

Actually most grow operations are in the country side and not in the big cities. The smell of the plants and the access to electricity is something which does not allow easily for city grow operations. Selling the weed is something different then grow operations.

They might be selling the drugs in the large cities however the grow operations normally are found in the outback and jungles so as to escape the attention of the army and police.

In our local small town we don't have any such problem. We live with peace. But in some big cities it was happened there also.
Running a growing operation is a great way to end up in federal prison for a long long time. I can't understand why people take such outrageous risks

Because the profits are very high. A growing operation allows you to grow the highly addictive (and profitable) "skunk" under more controlled conditions. To some it is worth the risk.

I can tell you why I grew it. Because for me personally there is no better medicine for depression.
Dealers want too much money, they are not always easy to find, and you don't know if mother nature's weed has be adulterated.
Yes the Feberal government defies the constitution (4th amendment) and threatens 10 years to life for growing over 1000 plants.
Some people I know want to grow it but they don't understand basic gardening.
The real problem is dection by police helocopter and there are plenty of tax dollars for them. The next biggest problem is theft by word of mouth.
The untalked about question is why do 5% of people(95% of people don't want to use it on a regular basis) who try it continue to use it on a daily basis? I believe it is because of brain damage caused by mercury in the vacines given to helpless babies. When a person is mildly austic, biopolar, emotionally challenged from mercury poisoning they tend to seek relief.
Cannabis is the least harmful "relief I know of". Don't get me wrong even tho I think it should be leagalized; it can be consided addictive. "I would love to be free of the addiction". Maybe I should think deeper " I would love to be free of the effects of mercury poisoning". If I can't find a cure for mercury poisoning ;then maybe someone can tell me an effect way to treat the symptums of brain damage other than cannabis?
I would love to not need weed. But to me weed is better than depression. I think that is the reason some people defy the law and continue to grow/use it. Other people grow it to profit off other peoples' need...or for others' kicks.

Because the profits are very high. A growing operation allows you to grow the highly addictive (and profitable) "skunk" under more controlled conditions. To some it is worth the risk.
Because some people believe in freedom and liberty and will risk even prison for these ideals . Then there are the willfully ignorant people who believe the lies of there government. And those who profit from pretending to fight the drug war or those who pretend to cure it. Because they have there drug of choice be it religion, alcohol, pharmaceuticals or those who think no drug at all is best. The worst ones are the latter because if drug free was so great no one would do drugs.
No matter what these peoples drug of choice is or no drug at all. You are all hypocrites at best and criminals at worst. If you believe people who smoke cannabis need to be saved from it. By putting them in prison or forcing them into treatment in most cases both.
I do not use the word marijuana because I have smoked cannabis for over 35 years and it in no way even remotely resembles these peoples definition of what marijuana is.

Heh . in my city some kids (18 and 19 years olds) were planting marijuana in one of their appartments with good conditions for the plants to grow , they got caught after their first crop. Many people plant them durring summer time just in the back yard, but most of them get caught so the process is slowing , not many people plant it nowadays.
