Meth keeps showing up in drug test but not using any?

My husband has to take drug tests every other day, meth keeps showing up in them and he is not using. I do know this for a fact, by the way. We did see in the lab results that the amount keeps going down but he has not used since March 1. What is going on? The courts don't believe him. You may not either but is there a possibility that it could be stored in his body somewhere and is slowly leaving? He was a user for 7 years if that helps. Thanks for any input.

Drugs are stored in fat cells in the body. If you have a family physician he/she may be able to explain how exactly that works. If your husband has only been clean since March and used for 7 years, it may take several months for a negative test. You can't just quit one day and have negative results the next, it really does take a while. I would talk to a doc about it.

Actually, meth only stays in your system for about 72 hours, if the courts don't believe him then he needs to ask the court if there has been any similar cases?

I used for 20 years and when I quit and started taking drug tests every other day for drug court I never had a positive, and my first test was about 4 days after my last use.

The only other thing that can show a positive is if he is using certain medications, which if he was I'm sure he lets the test facility know?
