Thanks to a car accident that ended up with some tore up knees and lumbar discs, I found myself very dependent on several different opioid medications. My Ortho wants to do more surgery. I've decided to come off of the medication as a way of pain management and find alternative treatments.

I have been tapering down for several days, but woke up today feeling rather "tweaked" or simply put, out of it. While I have the meds, I really, really don't want to take any just to feel better.

Any ideas, input or support would be appreciated.

Thank you.:(

any doctor will tell you that tapering is the best way to get off of a opiod, good for you for wanting to take a great step. it's hard but you'll feel so much better knowing you don't have to rely on any medications. depending on where you live there may even be some pain management centers you can go to help you through it. good luck
