I am in a curious situation. I have had trouble with my neighbor for many years now. My grandmother was befriended by her neighbor, and eventually we found out that they were ripping her off. The family ended the friendship.
She is obsessed with getting even with us. She even tried to frame me for attempted murder once, but got caught in her own lies. She watches us obsessively and doesn't seem to have a life outside of my family during these times.
I thought for awhile she might be bi-polar, but lately I've noticed some other signs that make me wonder about meth abuse...
I've noticed that she always seems to be worse when she is in a skinny phase. She gains weight for awhile and then loses it in a matter of weeks... and her skinny phases are when she makes my life hell.
About a year ago she dropped a lot of weight rapidly, and then I noticed her complexion was horrible.
Sometimes large sores are present. Then tonight I noticed her hair is extremely thin, and receding... and she used to have beautiful hair... now she just looks skeletal.
So my question is if my suspicions are correct... how do you deal with a meth addict when you don't have a choice. We cannot reason with her, we can not avoid her, she is actually stalking us to the point of letting other things in her life slip.
Her behavior has escalated to the point she has been removed from board meetings twice by law enforcement. She is doing things I would have sworn she was too smart to do a year ago and we feel my elderly grandmothers life may be in danger.
We can't prove she is using, and that really isn't a concern but I really want to know if there is anything we can do just to protect my grandmother???
Are there any signs we can watch for to know she is getting close to a breaking point? We fear she is already there but how do we know for sure?
