I have an addiction to opiates and i know i can stop my only problem is when i stop i get what you would probably call dope sick. (withdrawals) I know about suboxone and i know if i can just get my hands on four or five of those i will be fine. I have health insurance and i'm considering going to my check up doctor and just saying i have an opiate addiction la la la i'm trying to get off can you perscribe me soboxones. Will that work??? I don't want to go to a rehab program because despite what you guys will think i know i don't need it plus so far none of my family members know and i would like to keep it that way. If i try suboxone and get clean and then get into opiates again i promised my self i will check into rehab but at this point if it wasn't for withdrawals keeping me from doing things in my everyday life i would have stop already.

So can i ask my regular doctor for suboxons?

hej...I'm on soboxones for almost a year now and is working! I tried with methadone and everythink possible but without success. I just wanted to tell you that 4 or 5 tablets won't help you. Addiction is a serious problem and never ending story. Soboxones is the answer with a lot of courage and will. Good luck!

Im sorry if this info comes to late .In order for a doctor to prescribe suboxone he has to have a special liscense. Its not something they just hand out(suboxone that is).You also as the patient or the prescribey have to see a therapist a minumum of once a month for 30 minutes.I live in a big city and theres only a handfull of doctors that are certified to prescribe suboxone. What you need to do is go to a methadone treatment center. There you can get an evauluation and figure out if you need sub or methadone.
Also you have to take sub for at least a week before it starts working.
They also make you detox for 48 hours before they will even start you on it.
I feel your pain and sense your desperation as i have been there so many many times before.
If you cant beat the opiates get in a MMT program.
Good luck

As long as you're in mild to moderate withdrawls, Suboxone will take away your sickness, if you're trying to just kick. But you have to be in withdrawls before you take them or they will throw you into withdrawls. I just did it with some that a friend gave me and it worked for me. 1st day I took 16mg, didn't feel great, but it took that edge off. Day 2 took 12mg, and I didn't feel to bad. Day 3 took 8mg and I felt pretty good. Kept going down for 5 days and I'll tell you what, it sure beats cold turkey. They are GREAT for kicking heroin. Not as good as methadone, in my opinion, but they work. Staying stopped is the HARD part!!!!

TurnToHelpNow.com is a web site that will find a doctor in your area that prescribes suboxone. insurance usually doesn't cover the visit just the script. good luck. it s rough. I've been off dope 3 years now and still struggle with temptation. The physical addiction is only the beginning don't lie to yourself.

to the OP and the first responder. OP lol you sound like me but i finally told my family and trust me you will need support. I was the exact same way i always said if i could just get passed the withdrawals i would be alright. Finally went to a detox about a month ago it helped alot although i don't remember a thing over those 5 days. I thought long and hard about trying suboxone and in the end decided it wasn't worth it they were not going to help me. Of course five days of detox was not enough so i found the weakest pain killer i could find (darvacet) and took 4 a day which helped alot considering a week prior i was doing over a gram a day of h. It really all is in the mind set. I think some people need rehabs and some just need love and support. Im takeing the support route and so far is working great. I'm a little over a month clean now i guess ill see how strong i am pretty soon. And to the other guy if your on suboxone for a year there is a problem... I have several friends who had no choice but to stop cold turkey took them 10 days two weeks at max. Im not here to judge though hopefully you will realize you can do it on your own.
