I think people can get addicted to almost anything. I mean there are kids now a days that seem to be addicted to their playstations.

I'm sure that an addictive personality can get addicted to anything, from social card playing to computer to alcohol and sex. Some people seem more prone to being addicted than others.

Some people just see betting and gambling as a way of "making things interesting" and do it succesfully. However the gambling industry is not about that, but about encouraging people to make big wins.

Back at our place too there is a tradition to play cards on a certain festive occasion.

And I think the idea originally was to have some fun after the long day's work but now as I perceive it the notions have changed.

I think that many people become addicted to many things on a daily basis and there is nothing that is exempt from the possible addiction. Just as I believe there is no one that is exempt from that as well.

An average human being lives almost the same daily life every day. Therefore to break his monotonous routine he looks for something new from which he could get a bit relaxed or some excitement. The problem comes when this need of excitement overpowers him and he needs that "excitement" evryday. Thats the point where a person crosses the line and becomes addicted.

My opinion on this subject is different, as long as people don`t play for money but for fun I don`t think it can become addictive, I`m talking about matures, not the kids with their consoles. kids get addicted because they are let to play more than they are supposed to. Playing cards for fun is also a tradition in my country, we play card on all holidays, between friends and family, this I cannot call addictive.
