Does anyone remember this inhaled drug? Did it ever become popular in America? In the UK it went under the name of Liquid Gold, and came in little brown glass bottles. It was inhaled, and I believe it killed in the same way that solvent abuse kills.
I remember I once went to a boyfriend's house and he had an open bottle of it on the fireplace, with a wick in it. Obviously he was hoping to get me inebriated with the stuff! I could smell it as soon as I walked in and wouldn't stay-but he assured me it was just a room fragrance!

When I loved in Florida some years ago they were selling poppers. If you asked for it in the sex shops then the clerk would say that they are not allowed to sell it. You had to ask for typewriter cleaner as appearantly this is one and the same product. Strange item to sell in a sex shop don't you think?

It is still very popular in the UK, the most common name now is "Room Aroma" also very popular in the US as "Video Head Cleaner" or "Leather Cleaner" you can buy them from Poppers2U at great prices, I just bought 5 for £15 and they arrived the following day.

They also have a great FAQ section about health and the use of aromas.

I haven't heard of them here in Canada.
I have heard of people abusing the pressurized cans of air used to clean electronic equipment, though.

You're not missing out on anything. They can be very dangerous things, just like the majority of illegal substances.

I know that in some communities, people inhale gasoline fumes to get high.
I think that bitters used to be sold in grocery stores here a few years ago. I've also heard of people drinking vanilla extract for the alcohol content.

I think that they've been classified now, but you used to be able to buy poppers legally in the UK. Very big with the gay crowd here in Brighton coz apparently they help you loosen up.

I believe that I have heard of the term but do not know how it was distributed or any other factors about it. I would imagine that it was big in the larger cities where most things are more accessible.
