I don't know much about prescription drugs, so I'm wondering if somebody could help me out. What is the difference between Oxycontin and Oxycodone?

Oxycontin is the trade name for "oxycodone continuous release", meaning a form of the drug that releases into your system continuously over time.

Thanks, QuietLunatic. That makes a bit more sense. I have heard the names used interchangeably, so I was a bit confused. This clears it up a little.

You can find lots of name for same medicine but the things used in them are always same

Oxycontin is quickly becoming the drug of choice of a lot of young people. This is a shame as it is a highly addictive prescription
