I was wondering how actively the promoters of clubs and raves try to stop the use of drugs.

I'd expect it ranges from not caring in the case of the transient venues, to the businesses going for the long term trying to stop the use of drugs so they won't be shut down.

What do you think about this?

Any time you have a group of hundreds of people, it's going to be impossible to control the behaviour of every individual.

I suspect that club owners try to stop the use of drugs . They make extra income from sale of drugs , than why should they bother to stop it

It depends on the club,a dn it depends on the night, and it probably depends on the promotor. Ultimately it's not down to the promotor though, he's not going to held liable, he just organise the night, then moves on somehwere else. The responsibility legally lies with owners and management.

Well, I cannot imagine that if the local authorites finds that a club is dealing that they would be open long. I think most promoters and owners are not selling and do what they can to try and control usage. But they as mentioned cannot control in very large crowds.

I've worked in a number of nightclubs across the country, and a few of them have definately had designated dealers. I've also known management and door staff take cuts from dealers profits in order to allow them to work in their clubs.

They always say they keep an active watch but they really don't. Part of the reason is because its almost impossible to keep track of. If they see it in broad daylight, they will stop it but most of the time they don't make the extra effort.
