Who else is addicted to the internet? I can't stop being on this thing. Is it bad for my health. I mean other than not getting enough exercise. I mean staring at this screen is it bad for me? Please advise.

My whole day is not complete without the presence of internet thing for me. Infact I am already suffering from my ulcer due to this, because I don't about the time as long as I am enjoying surfing the net. One thing also is that my sight is already blurred if I am not wearing my eyeglasses. So bad but I enjoy and learned many things on the net.

Since I have started on the internet, my eye sight has gotten worse, I get cramps in my hands and wrists daily, I have become very lazy and frequently get headaches. I work fulltime and require the internet as part of my daily duties so I cannot reduce the time I spend on the internet as per my doctors orders. So to answer your question, yes it is bad for you.
The Internet has the feature of being that infinite supply of yet more sites to visit - so there can never be any sense of "finished". Its always calling its "victims" to "just one more site". I'm not an addict, but I can see the potential there. Even as a non-addict, it takes some self-control for me to say, "Ok. That's it. Shut it down." (I've even occasionally come back twenty minutes later and turned it back on again. )

I work online so I spend 9+ hours a day online most of the time. However, I always take an hour or two to go to the gym everyday and take a few hours to hang out with friends. You life can't be completely online because literally, you will have no life then.

Too much looking at the screen can affect the pineal gland, which can mess up your immune system and any number of other things. Looking at the light on the screen confuses the pineal gland, and that triggers off the wrong hormones at the wrong time.

I sometimes think that I may have an addiction to the net but I'm kind of stuck using it a lot as I need it fgor work and research.
I guess that if I have to get addicted to something there could be far worse things than the net, although it can cause social problems.

I agree, I think I've got very slight addiction to it, but it's how I earn most of my money, so I guess I put up with it :P
--> Internet is better and less destructive than other things I have seen addict people, and it has ruined their lives completely...

Internet may be an addiction until and unless it start affecting our eyes and waste our time. Many of us are doing our daily work on the internet itself.
