In Canada, I remember that liqueur shooters were once served in test tubes. It was a novelty, but I think it became illegal because you couldn't set the drink down without putting it in another glass, so it was too practical to down it all at once, which is the intent of "shooters" anyway.

I also assume the serving a yard of ale was stopped because of the incentive to over indulge.

Do you think the liquor laws have tightened up in your area?

No not in my area atleast. Government although keep bringing to bills but all in vain. I believe that Government is actually not willing to make any strict rules for liquor as it provide them high revenues.

Government will never do that because it does any thing of that sort, it would be like hitting your own feet.

I agree with you that they will never make very strict laws against alcohol but atleast government can strictly implement the existing laws.
