I've noticed some posters and even an office in casinos that are there to hopefully help people with gambling problems.

Do you think that these efforts are enough, or should these organizations to help problem gamblers be more prominent in the casinos?

Ideally, anyone who has a gambling problem should stay the heck OUT of all casinos, and I'm thinking people who are there are not likely to look for help.

I agree with you but this is what addiction is. You might know that it is bad for you but you still cant help without it.

I think that is all that should be required of the casinos. I do not think it is their responsibilty to babysit a person, but to offer the help if someone chooses to take it. I think they are doing all they should have to do. Until people start taking responsibilty for their own actions it is not someone elses responsibilty and they should not be held accountable for these people.

But its all not that simple you know. Suppose a person very pissed off with himself one day goes to gamble. There he starts loosing heavily and when help is offered to him or he is advised to quit, you probably know what his reactions would be like.

The point I want to make here is that there are a lot of freedom related issues that come into play and its difficult to resolve it untill the law of the land affirms one thing or the other.

Generally, I wouldn't trust these help centers as casinos make money by getting people to gamble. There is an incentive for these help programs to not be completely effective. Plus anyone who is addicted should generally just stay out of casinos.

I think casinos should hire specialized personell, that would be able to talk to people about their gambling habits. they should be advised not to gamble untill they will end up sleeping in the streets, but this is just a dream, casinos will never do something like this they want profits they don`t care about the gambles loosing money, they are just happy their bussiness works.
