That's the reality nowadays aima123. And I guess it's not only in your country but other places too. The best thing to do inorder to avoid teenager getting involve in alcohol at young age is to encourage them join in sports such as basketball, football and other activities. At least it will make them busy and forget alcohol.

The rate of abuse for alcohol is no surprise due to its popularity.

That's a good idea shinningstar. What about computer game addict? I think it's also another way of taking them away from alcohol. Because one of my player here reason out that this is much preferable than to be in alcohol. But the problem is that they keep on cutting their classes.

I think playing counterstrike is better than being involve in alcohol. If there's a disadvantage such as cutting classes, it's an obligation of parents to discipline their kids. They can limit the allowance of their kids.

You're right but the bad news I've heard in just a few days ago that some of my players become thief just because of computer 3d games.

So sad to hear there's always a negative side in everything. I was even shocked when I saw a 1 year old baby drinking beer instead of milk. Two years from now for sure he will learn drinking alcohol.

Is that for real? Or just in an advertisement? My gosh I can't imagine the future of the child.

I know some parents who allow kids who are nearly old enough to be served legally to have alcohol in the home as long as they stay in.

Their theory is that it teaches responsible use of alcohol, rather than forbidding them to drink which may make them want to even more and lead to binge drinking.

Unfortunately, because alcohol is so easily available, it is becomes a very easy addiction to develop.

That's true, and also it's much more widely distributed by legal means than marijuana for example, which has some legal use in some places for medicinal use.

It should be no surprise to anyone that alcohol is the most of abused drug. It is legal, easy to get, relatively cheap, and the buzz from it is fast acting. If you compare that to say cocaine, where you have to have a dealer, pay higher prices, consumption is not as easy as just drinking.

Even for children it can be easy to obtain since so many families have alcohol in the home.

I for one am all for allowing drinking in the home when supervised. I was allowed to drink on special occasions, and learned to understand my limits and how to drink safely. I have never been sick from alcohol like so many of my friends were when they hit 18 and went out on a binge; hung over yes, but never ended up in hospital with alcohol poisoning.

Education is important for everything, and drinking is no different.
