When did people start developing the method of smokig heroin? This is never mentioned (it seems) prior to the 1990's. When did smoking heroin become popular?

"Chasing the dragon" has been around forever. It's always been a popular alternative to people who are afraid of needles, because you get a strong "hit" that resembles the IV experience much more than snorting it.
