Dear trying so hard,

It sounds as if your physician is trying to be careful to assist you as you try to cut down and stop drinking alcohol. You know that cutting down too quickly from alcohol can create serious medical issues, which was what the librium may have been prescribed for. As you realized, the problem is that the Librium should ONLY be taken if you have COMPLETELY stopped using alcohol, otherwise the combination of alcohol and Librium used at the same time can also have serious consequences.

Speak again with your physician, and make sure NOT to take the Librium if you are still drinking.

Best of luck

I agree that cutting down from many things all at one time and in a quick manner can cause more harm than good. Your body needs to take time to heal from the trauma it is has been put through over the years so I would listen to what the doctor is telling you and take it a little at a time.

Stopping suddenly could cause problems try to cut the units sgradually instead of stopping at once. Librium is given only when you have stopped suddenly and to control the anxiety caused due to this. Consult your doctor again and best of luck!!

Librium is given to control the anxiety which arise when you have completely stopped the alcohol. I think you should consult your doctor again and make things clear. Why take chances???

i don`t think even the beer works with the drugs , not to talk about the medicine, dear you should be patient and try to reduce day by day little by little the amount of alcohol until u get to 0 ml, and continue to see your conceillor.
