I just want to know that how will you say that that particular person it alcoholic or not if that person is not drinking daily but when he drinks he drink till he is sick or vice-versa. Is there any guidelines for it??

I think drinking daily has to be a trait of an alcoholic. I have seen many such examples when a person not a regular drinker but whenever takes gets up to the point of such inebriated state even to recognise the guy sitting next to him.

Whether or not he is an alcoholic is an academic question. It sounds like he needs some sort of medical help. Doctors these days tend to be quite sensitive as to whether a patient needs help with their alcohol habit. Persuade him to see a doctor.

I think drinking daily alone can not be the trait to be an alcoholic. Drinking daily and drinking till you are sick should be the criteria to decide that your addict.

You can never tell wnything about it without getting it tested from doctors. These days doctors are taking alcoholism very seriously and designing tests to test whether the person is alcoholic or not.
I think to decide whether you are alcoholic or not you need medical help. Doctor have certain available with them on the basis of the results of those tests they tell you that you alcoholic or not.

you don`t need medical help to state if you are alcoholic or not, you sure know youirself if you are or not, if you can`t go through a whole day without needing a drink then you are somewhat an alcoholic, but if you can do okey with no drink in one whole week then you are not.
