Hello Kurt and welcome to this community, it is definately a welcoming forum. What can we help you with?
I hope you enjoy your stay here.
Hi James,
Heres my story in short.
4 DWIs from '90-2000
Haven't legally driven since '93 (can't till'11)
prison twice
95 day doc treatment
14mos 12d strait time
can't remember how many days total in the county jail
Just about lost my family numerous times
Every time things started looking up I would pull myself back down.
Several people have tried to help but I was always too self centered to accept any thing they offered. I always tried to hide the truth, and was good at it I thought. Until lately I didn't realize that the only one I was fooling was me. I was a vol. fireman, first responder and stormspotter and was kicked off because I couldn't stay off the sauce. I have finally started to actually look at my life and started to see that every job I have done in the last 20 years have been really stessful. If I succeeded I was sort of the HERO and had an excuse to party, and if I failed it was an excuse to jump on the "pitty pot".
I'm only 39 and feel like I'm 80, and I will finally admit that I'm tired of it. It's time to grow up and quit acting like i'm still 18. (quoted by my wife)
I never was one to believe in a higher power but, believe it or not, I found this site yesterday, and within an hour of signing up my landlord called and offered me a maint job , and a few hours later an old school teacher of mine called and asked me to help him on a remodel project.
Well it's just a little before sunrise and I'm going to go watch it instead of just knowing that it happened again.
