I think it is very important and quite helpful to know your limitations. It applies to eveything not only for drinking. I think if know our limitations and marked it then I believe that we will be able to control alcoholism to great extent.

Quite right you are buddy. But I've many of my friends who well know and understand their limits but they still continue drinking past their limitations which I never understood why?
It is very easy to understand and mark their limits but the problem is that they lack the will or you can say do not have control on their temptation. To follow the limitations we need to learn to control our temptations.

It is looks very nice to read and hear such things but the truth is that most of the people are ignore their limitations inspite of knowing them. friend it very difficult to control yourself when you have once started drinking.

Well I do not want to sound as if I am boasting but the truth is that whenever I used to drink with my friends I respected my limits and also urged my friends to do the same. You would not be a man of a lesser degree if you cannot drink as much as your buddies do.
You drink to enjoy and make sure that you do enjoy it and not spoil the fun of others too.

There are not many people who know their limits and respect them. While most of the people do not have control over themselves and just get carried away.

I am with you on this one. Knowing when to say enough is enough is very important. I think that the problem is that many people do not know when to say this and end up in more trouble than they ever imagined they would ever be in.

Quite right and nice to hear it was but the basic problem remains the same. That is How do you make fools understand this one simple fact.

If people will understand their limits so easily then where does the problem lies?? This is the sad part of the story that we have not learnt to know our limits and whenever some body tell us we do not pay attention to it.

The problem lies with people not being able to say no or control and take responsibility for their own actions. I think that if more people learned to be responsible for themselves instead of blaming others or society then we might have a better chance of helping more people.

Perhaps it is because a person does not sees himself as acting stupid as we see would see him acting. If he gets a picture of what he looks like when he acts in a idiotic way then he might get some sense in his mind.
And to show him that very picture the idea is that you video-tape him and then show it to him when the effect of alcohol wears down. Then probably he might learn from it.

I think in alcoholism as well as any addiction, there are no limits...there is no just going this far or that far. The road to hell and all those good intentions are only limits we failed to let control us. Its not knowing when to say enough..It is knowing when not to start.

Its useful way you know I have tried it myself on my friend and I have noticed great difference in his behavior from then. I just made a clip of his behavior when he was drunk and showed him next day when he was normal since then he never behaved in a way he use to behave earlier.

As I have said earlier that alcohol is good only if taken in controlled amounts but we often get driven away with it. If we would have stayed in our limitations there would have been no need to create this section of addiction.

I agree tottally drinking , every person should know their limits by a certain age, if not then they are in trouble, and it`s sad but many people don`t ever mature and this makes them act like kids , they don`t see the danger they can`t make the drifference betweek wrong and right allways.
