Just as there is a legal age defined by law for consumption of liquor, shouldn't there be a law which defines some pre-requisites for gambling.

What do you guys think?

In many places there is a legal age limit for gambling. Some countries it is 18 and in others it is 21. So you would need to do the research for the country that you might be wondering about and find out what their laws are for this.

What kind of pre-reqs are you talking about. I mean they don't do a background check or anything. Age is about all they can do? I mean what are they going to check. They don't have your bank information and its not their job to make sure you have a healthy bankroll.

Well you cannot obviously check a person's bank balance to allow or disallow him from gambling but you certainly can make a check on the age of the gambler to ascertain the fact that whether he is supposed to have gained enough maturity to understand the consequences of his own acts by cheking the pros and cons of it.

Of course there should, and everywere there are laws for underage gambling. In my country for instance anyone under 18 is not allowed to gamble at all, they aren`t alowed to buy lottery tickets even.

The age limit of people who could enter casino in our country is 18 up. But in betting like in illegal ones there is no age limit. Just bet if you want.
