Well the reason behind the doctors advising raw food is that when you cook the food, it looses much of its minerals and vitamins. Thats the only thing I know about it.

Well as a matter of fact I do have salads everyday with my meals which include cucumber, tomatoes, beans etc. But I wont be able to tell you the difference coz I have been on it since I can remember and it has been a part of a regular diet for me.

There's alot of good for which that is true. But I've heard for other food that cooking actually helps the body absorb some of the nutrients. Also for meats especially, eating it raw is unhealthy as there is bacteria and germs in there that could be potientially fatal.

I have not went on a strick raw food diet as there are some foods that are good for you and need to be cooked. But for the most part as stated it can help you lose weight because of the proper nutrients that your body is getting.

The best way the body assimilates the nutrients from fruit and vegetables is by eating them raw , eating raw is very healthy but is not suitable for everyvody. Some people who suffer from different disseases are not allowed to eat raw at all, for instance.

Theory behind it sometime because raw foods tend to have a longer time in digestion and will use more calorie to digest it. But like someone here said, not all people are suited for raw foods.

Eating raw vegetables like carrots, radish, cucumber and cauliflower in the form of salads with fruits mixed with it helps me to recover from constipation
