I heard it in the news that was once aired which mentioned of some old woman of about 80 years who was surviving without food for more than 30 years. She said that she only needed sunshine to survive. I mean how is that possible?

There are monks that have not eaten for 10 years and in India there are people that have not eaten for 60 years . We have to understand that planet get there food for the sun , animals get there food from planets .

But this sounds like crazy. I mean a human body needs atleast some nutrition to survive and that cannot be sunshine alone.

I have truly never heard of anything like surviving without food for 30 years! Are you sure this is true because this is a long time without any food and i thought fasting was hard.

I don't believe anyone who says their can survive without food for over 6 months. The malnutrition would cause you to die. I suppose you could go on for several years with hard food though. If you drink herbal stuff and soups with the right amount of nutrients, you'd be ok.

Maybe not solid foods. But they would have to be able to feed the body with liquids in order to not starve yourself to death. I would not believe it unless I seen someone do for myself.

These are miths from my point of view, I have heard of monks that only need water to survive, this case mught be true they feed themselves through spirituality, but come on.. our body need the proteins , vitamins and all those to survive , there is no cuch thing as surviving just with the help of sunshine!!!

You can go years without solid food, but no food at all, there's no way possible. People aren't Gods and they need to eat. Monks I know may not eat hard food for years, but they will drinking herbal remedies and broth and that may give them enough nutrition to stay alive. Its still not healthy though.

Very true, Humans can survive without food. Its because air constitute the very reason for life. Monks and all other people who practise meditations, yoga, can aquire energy directly from nature. Its not a wonder. It has been proved and many people are already practising here in India.
