Sugar and alcohol!!!

I read it some where I didn't remember where exactly that alcohol and sugar have connection. I didn't remember what kind of but I would like to know about it?? Can any body tell me the connection about alcohol and sugar???

i don`t think there is any relations betweek alcohol and sugar, just that alcohol contains a lot of sugat , at least most of the liquers rums whisky creams and soem others.
