This is a good question to ask our selfs , has heroin destroyed or inspired our artists ? there are movies like Trainspotting, Frank Sinatra film The Man with the Golden Arm; the 1971 Al Pacino film, Panic in Needle Park; 1998 television movie Gia starring Angelina Jolie about drug-addicted supermodel Gia Carangi.

Jerry Garcia smoked a gram or two of heroin every day, then downed three pints of Haagen Daz ice cream. In the end, it was the ice cream that killed him.

Yep, that Hagan Das is pretty lethal. I think most of the best music artists have been in some kind of drug addled state at at least some point of their career. I think it does inspire them,a nd also helps them release their inhibitions. Plus, it doesn't seem to do thier image or creditbiliy any harm.

In terms of writing stuff, I'm sure it helped them at times as they were inspired while hallucinating or something. But healthwise, it destroys them. There's been more than a few stories of artists dying after overdoses.

Just think of Jimmie Hendrix or Elvis presley, and you`ll get the answer they both died because of drug use , I don`t think they can inspire you for a long time, as their lifes were short :(
