View Full Version : signs of an anorectic.
if you know of any signs that point to anorexic behavior..post them here.
from experience, if the person is always with an excuse to not eat meals, eating food alone, or trying to hide the fact that he or she is eating, big loose clothing, constantly cold, dizzyness, crankiness..and several others.

I noticed that an anorectic individual cook wonderful meals for others but avoid eating the food they've made themselves, have dry skin and thinning hair.
that is very much true.
they love to cook, and love to serve others.
when i was an anorectic, my hair fell out alot, and only years later did it become more fuller.
also..
for those who are VERY thin, they begin to develop more hair on their skin (example, their back) as a defence mechanism to keep the body warm.

I have really seen a 16-year old girl, who suffers such problem. In three months, she lost 30 kilos. Now there is a big problem. She is very thin 38 kilos which is good for her. I ask her why is she so? and she answered, she has no appetit and no hunger for the whole day. She feels always of having a full stomach although she eats nothing.
At the moment, she is in therapy in a clinic. I hope, she looks like a healthy 16-year old teen.

Just today on the radio, I heard the results of a report that suggested that anorexia could be hereditary.
Has anyone else heard that?

I donīt heard that news ever since. But I donīt believe that this is hereditary. One could control if she will.

I haven't heard that but I do know depression is hereditary and I would imagine that depression plays a big role in anorexia as well as bulimia.

yes.,.. anorexia and depression go hand in hand.
