Can people overcome alcoholism by themselves? Can anyone be successful, dealing with DTs and the anxiety and all that, without the support of a group of professionals?

The best friend that you are looking for is your self do you know that ? We have to first start with loving ourselfs and then the rest will follow .

Except that alcoholism comes along with many real and difficult to manage side effects that when experienced unsupported can be fatal. DTs are tough and dangerous.

I dont think it can be handled all by oneself. People do need support at times and not always they can face every kind of situation all by themselves. Life has its own ups and downs and sometimes you need a shoulder to rest your head.

One can overcome alcoholism but it will be very difficult and there will be more chances that he will relapsed back to his/her addiction.
