The steps I am taking now will be for the rest of my life won't they? If I quit, then that is it. No more booze ever, I could never risk even a single drink could I?

I think that it is a good idea to say that you would not want to take the risk with even a single drink. It takes a big person to be able to say no when offered a drink, and that is the proper way about it I think. I find that also staying away from people who drink regularly is another way to help you stay on track. good luck

I guess you going right on that. Even by having just one drink you could be tempted into having more and more of it.

While its best to never drink a single drink again, this is incredibly hard to do. Sometimes when you are at a business meeting, it is natural to take a drink if nothing else but to please the client. A better and more sensible alternative would be to always moderate yourself when you do drink.

To please a client can you afford to mess your life??? Its easy to say that keep yourself moderate but its equally difficult to do so. Just for few bucks messing with our life is not a good deal at all.
There is nothing wrong is having a drink once ina while. It is justified!! Alcohol is good for health so there is nothing wrong if you drink it with your client to please him. Its not going to affect your health at all.

In some cultures its rude not to drink. You don't need to mess up your life. You need to learn to moderate your behavior. People who say "I quit for good" are usually not as succesfull as people who try to moderate their behaviour at certain times. You have to learn self-control.
In some cultures alcohol is introduced at young age but that doesn't mean that every body that culture would be alcoholic whether young or old. We should respect all the cultures.

i don`t think you should put it this way, for the rest of your life sounds pretty though, I advise you to stay away totaly from any kind of alcohol at least for let`s say one year, so you know you`ve cleaned up your addcition, then you can drink socially, ocasionally but never again in excess.
