So we all know that weight is at least partially, if not mostly determined by genetics. So for a person who is genetically fat, how can they control their body weight and not feel bad about themselves? People who are genetically dispositioned to weight more suffer a much higher % of these problem than their lean counterparts.

These people have to see a dietician , so they can find out why they are getting fat, something in their organism is not working properly, or they are not eating what they are supposed to. Nowdays there are special diets for different blood groups.

Some people may have more of a genetic predisposition to gaining weight than others, but there were no fat people in the concentration camps in Germany during WWII. In other words, nobody's genes cannot be overcome.

Some weight problems exist because people live under chronic stress, frustration, depression, or even grief. Their bodies give off stress hormones that make them need high-energy foods in order for them to be able to think straight and keep functioning in their day-to-day lives. People who are at the mercy of their body's demand for high-energy food are angry at themselves for not being able to "just day 'no'", are miserable with their weight much of the time, and sometimes don't even realize that they are dealing with cravings that are overpowering, rather than just lack of willpower.

Sometimes, too, people who are well adjusted and who will do what it takes to keep going and do what they need to do for their families (particularly in the case of mothers), people will go ahead and do what it takes (eat the carbohydrates) in order to have the "strength" to keep moving, rather than just go sack out on a couch somewhere and neglect their responsibilities.

From what I understand, anorexics are much more inwardly turned and dealing with their own issues. Eating and weight is their main focus. For people who have some extra weight to lose, there are other things in life that are more important than how many pounds they see on a scale.
