i think your friend has a very high addiction to pain killers.. but what causes his pains anyway? i suffer of Chron`s disease but I am not interested in pain killers at all, just because of their harmfull effects. he should try to reduce the dose untill he goes to 0 pill a day, and try someting like relaxation music, hot baths, ambiet oils , and scent sticks they helped me a lot.
One of the classic things addicts do is admit to having done drugs in the past but claim they no longer do.
One of the classic problems of friends and family of drug addicts is that they are helpless and have to stand by and hope the addict finds a way to get help.
In all candor, I don't think you can do anything. You could mention that you saw what you did on his computer and try to get him to talk about any addiction he may have. Maybe that would help him at least admit it to himself. Other than that, I don't think there's anything you can do.
