I have a book on sound therapy. Here it says, very slow music (ONLY MUSIC, NO WORDS) can make us relax and thats an sure alternative for smoking.

Music therapy is an interesting subject, and can be used for a variety of things.

Try finding a beat that matches the rythm of the heart, it should soothe you, or as mentioned above something slower that can really help to relax you.

Faster music is great for exercise and motivationg you during long work outs.

Music therapy is really better way to make your mind quite and cool. Most of Yoga Guru suggest such a music which is a slow and only music can help to improve your mind power. So you can use as a alternative way.
