If our parents are addicted, then what can the children do? How can they make them understand and help them recover from addiction? After all they are too small.

If the children are "too small", they`ll probably not even understand that their parents have a problem with alcohol, but if the child is old enough to undertant could be able to help in some way or another, meaning sendinf his parent/parents to support groups, recovery institutions etc.

If the child is old enough to understand what is going on then they are old enough to address the issue with their parents. They just need to be very careful in how they do this. If they think the parents will not listen to them but might listen to a close friend then go to that person. If you think that the parents will think an adult is interfering in their lives then you might want to say,"hey can we talk for a minute. I have been concerned about some things that I have seen and wanted to talk to you about it. This does involve some actions from you, that make me sad." Then you will be able to decide at that point if they are going to listen or be upset if you mention too much about them. Maybe they will want to discuss your concerns further maybe they will bring it up themselves, or maybe they will say everything is fine there is nothing to worry about. But then let it go and try another day. You do not want to make them mad though.
