One of my buddies was just about to go bankrupt, he had many credits at banks , and many of them he was not able to pay back. He wanted to get another loan, I just stopped him from doing so, in the last minute. Do you think he`s decision will last long?
You did a very good task .It depends on the nature of your friend and his addiction level. If your friend is a new gambler he can certainly mend his ways and not gamble in future, but an addict gambler cannot resist himself to do so. But i hope your friend follows your advice.

He is an addict , but I hope he`ll not do it again, as I could quit gambling he can too !

If your friend is in such a dire position he really needs to look at getting some proper help.
You did the right thing in stopping him from getting further into debt but he really needs to do something about it before things really start to spiral out of control.

If he is going to load just for gambling again then i think it would not be good? because it will all just be the same story. But if that was for a good business then it could be worth the try,
