I have many times thought how to determine when enough is enough and if this really works for some people that are addicted. Does anyone know or have any comments on this.? I think that some people can just say that is enough as they get older, but how would you determine what is enough.

Personally, with regards to drugs usage, I did get the impression that I was developing a problem and decided enough was enough. When I was 17 I moved out of home and into a flat with my best friend. We used to have parties at ours ever weekend, and would consume increasing amounts of e and coke. When I started suffering from sleep paralysis, becoming paranoid, and finding myself high during the week, rather than just on saturday nights, i decided I needed to stop.

Many people get the sense that things are getting out of control and are able to stop whatever it is they're doing.

I think, though, many others get the same sense that all is out of control, but whether its because they've realized it too late or have circumstances that make stopping likely, for some reason they can't stop even when they know enough has been enough for quite a while.

Very good points brought up and thank you Laurah for sharing your experience with us. How where you able to make those changes once you said enough is enough.

I think that is important to share what you can so that others might be able to realize that enough is enough even though it may be difficult to stop.
