Can you tell if a relasps in on the way

Are there ways that you can tell if a relapse is on the way? I know that recovery can be hard but would like to know what the chances are and if you can tell that you are having problems that might cause you to go back to old ways.

I am not sure that you can tell if a relaps is on the way, or at least I have never really been able to tell. I do get feeling of wanting to use but do not ever act on those feelings. They are more like urges to do it. I try to take on one of my hobbies instead to help me get away from it.

I would say that although there are no cast iron signals if you're about to relapse, you do need to be careful about putting yourself in situations that would make it easier to do so.

Check on things like stress, location or even those around you, if any of it is potential pathway to relapse, get away from it.

Makes a lot of sense. Knowing your surroundings and if something there could trigger a relasps is the key then. What if you are with friends and these triggers appear do you just need to be stronger or remove yourself from the temptation or what?
