My husband has been taking clonopin for about 1 1/2 yrs. He stopped cold turkey, throwing away the remaining pills he had after an argument we had when i confronted him about abusing the medication. Hes been in recovery for 3 yrs, but he told me he's had "slips" off and on the last year, always with the clonopin. Today is the 7th day since he threw them away and he has yet to show any signs of withdrawal. I had gone online the night he threw them away to see what to expect since it was a 3 day weekend and wanted to be prepared should things get rough. What I read over and over was it was like walking into hell around the 3rd day. My question is, would it be possible for someone to stop cold turkey on that amount and have no withdrawal symptoms what so ever. He keeps telling me that 2 mg is a "very small amount" however thats not what i have read. He has been in and out of recovery for the last 10 years, 2 times time in a rehab hospital to detox and get a start at a clean life. Obviously sobriety is not a priority to him.
