I am a college student and have been addicted to pot for the last year. It all started when I moved out on my own with 3 friends that smoke a lot. We even turned a storage space in our house into a smoking room. I didn't really smoke a lot until I broke my leg and ankle and was laid up for 5 months, and pot was there to keep me happy. The problem is I have become dependent on it, I go through withdrawls and crave it when I don't have it daily. The problems so far have been; since I am a soccer player I have noticed my endurance has gone down a lot, I have lost contact with some of my friends that don't smoke, I have become less outgoing and willing to meet new people. I have tried to stop but since my entire house smokes it is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I want to stop but it seems impossible. Does anyone have any advice?

Being Active Is A Great Thing And You Should Be Very Proud Of It. But Smoking Even A Cigarette Will Affect Your Health I Once Played Rugby In Australia And Found That Smoking Was'nt Good. The Fact Is These Day's If You Don't Do Drugs Of Some Sort You Are A Nobody. So You Must Rewrite Sporting History (for Your Self) And Just Say Bloody No Thanks. I Think You Will Find That A Lot Of Your Team Mates Will Respect Your Will. Pot No Matter How Much People Say Is As Addictive As Rubbing You Face Against A Brick Wall. Myself Would Not Lie, Ive Been Smoking Since I Was 14 Years Old I Am Now 35 And Can Take It Or Leave It When Even I Choose. Its The Need To Fit In More Then The Need To Fit It In. Please Think Of Your Future Not The Boring Past.

what i did, is i found something that was really important to me! like my boyfriend. we were dating, and he hated that i smoked, and he got sick of me smoking, and broke up with me! I was madly in love with him, so i knew what i had to do to keep something important to me! so i went into counseling, and i stopped!

so just find something that you love to do, and something thats important to you!

I understand how your feeling mate. Allthough pot isnt as addictive as other harder drugs it IS addictive. I split up with my girlfriend around a year ago and became totally dependant on it because it was the only thing to stop the pain and much more efficient than alchohol. You need to get away from that house if you really want to stop because if its there and you have cravings you will take it. You have to keep yourself active as possible and not become bored of life. Concentrate on the football and just be part of your team.

The only positive subsitute ive found is to keep active and try and look ahead to a positive drug free life. I made a new year resolution to stop and 6 days later I havn't touched it allthough it is very hard and im not sleeping very well. I dont know if il manage to continue as like you I seem to be surrounded by it but every day I dont take it is a succesful day in my eyes.

Pot is a good way to irradigate problems but will eventually become a problem itself because the longer your on it the harder it is to stop.
