Default What Drugs are Used?

Are there certain drugs that are commonly used to help people dry out? What are they? Are there risks to taking those drugs as well?

Well I have not really heard of drugs that help your do this but then again I am not directly dealing with this. But I do have to say that when you are recovering there are other factors that might need to be addressed as well that require medications.

Actually haven't heard of many drugs as a treatment to Alcholism. The best results I've seen are when people join a local AA group. Peer assurance and help seems better than medical treatment when it comes to quitting in my opinion.

I agree with you but medical treatment is also important to control the crave and negative effects of withdrawl. Self assurance and emotional support are must for addict to recover.

Both are equally important in revovery. You can not ignore them at all. medicines helps your body to control the crave for addiction and Support helps your mind to be strong so that you do not relapse.

These drugs only help people to dry out for a short period of time, just after they finihs the treatment most of them go back to drinking, the best solution is therapy, especially group therapy where they will gain more self confidence and this will help a lot in dealing with they alcohool problem.
