These processes can vary from cold turkey to the use of substitute drugs which do not have the same action upon the state of consciousness as the original drug to which the person was addicted.

Alcohol Addiction is a chronic disease characterized by a strong craving for alcohol, a constant or periodic reliance on use of alcohol despite adverse consequences, the inability to limit drinking, physical illness when drinking is stopped, and the need for increasing amounts of alcohol to feel its effects.

Default Naltrexone-really help!!!

My friend was a heavy drinker and then we insisted him to recover and took him to councellor there he was councelled and Then he was given Naltrexone. he was given Only one injection of Naltrexone drug and psychotherapy together helped him a lot. To know more about the Naltrexone follow the link.

Thank you for the information. How has your friend been since that point in time is he doing well and still staying away from alcohol. Please let us have updates so that we can see how this works.

Is this also a one time thing?

I have heard about naltrexone. It is given for the heavy drinkers and you have to be careful that you do not have more doses of it as prescribed by the physician. Its side effects are dangerous.

i think that psichoterapy has helped your friend more than anythig , even than that drug Naltrexone, witch can make you addcited to it, I personally desagree with drugs off all kinds to treat addictions, therapy is just the thing a person need in dealing with their addction.
